2021 Clarksburg Chenin Blanc 2021 Amador County Grenache Noir 2021 Clarksburg Malbec
2021 Clarksburg Malbec
Our Price: $25.00
A fresh, acid-driven white wine reminiscent of Chardonnay, but without all the buttery notes. Our Chenin Blanc features aromas and flavors of Chamomile, yellow apple, lemon verbena, apricot, and peach wrapped in a soft mouthfeel that seamlessly leads to a bright, zippy finish. Drink on its own or pair with chicken, pork, and cow cheeses such as gruyere, triple cream brie, or cheddar.

Clarksburg AVA
The Clarksburg viticultural area lies just south of Sacramento alongside the Sacramento river which acts as a night time temperature regulator in this hot daytime region. The sandy, alluvial soils of the region and cooling river influence have many likening Clarksburg to the Loire region of France, making it a perfect area to grow Chenin Blanc in California.

WINEMAKING
We destemmed and pressed off the Chenin Blanc, 100% into a stainless steel tank where underwent a three week fermentation with indigenous yeast. After alcoholic fermentation, we racked the wine off the lees (spent yeast) into stainless steel barrels, where it aged for seven months before bottling without fining or filtration.

A perfect Grenache for Pinot drinkers, this chillable red wine is bursting with fruit flavors of bing cherries, baking spice, and strawberry fruit roll up, highlighted with cinnamon and white pepper spices. It's delicious, it's versatile, and we have paired with anything from pizza to duck to grilled chicken, hambergers, and vegetables...the fresh acidity and light tannin finish would even hold up to red meats like Hanger Steak and Filet Mignon. Only 90 cases produced, so please buy this wine before we drink it all!

Winemaking
This is our first time working with the younger vines from the top of a steep vineyard on the east side of Amador County, so we wanted to make a light, fruit-driven wine that could be served chilled and perfect for sipping. To achieve this, we sorted 50% of the fruit whole cluster into the bottom of our large, open-air fermenters and then destemmed the remaining 50% of the Grenache on top of the clusters. The wine underwent a 22-day native fermentation before we lightly pressed the juice into old French Oak barrels, where it aged for eight months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
This wine is everything you love about Malbec delivered in a light, fresh package, creating a familiar yet unique experience for this rare grape to find in California. Our Malbec has flavors of Santa Rosa plum, blackberry, coffee, and hints of dark chocolate and graphite, finished off with the lightest of tannins and loads of fresh, food-friendly acidity. This is a truly versatile red wine that pairs with anything from pizza to ribs, or burgers, tacos, steak, and BBQ chicken.

Clarksburg AVA
The Clarksburg viticultural area lies just south of Sacramento alongside the Sacramento river which acts as a night time temperature regulator in this hot daytime region. The sandy, alluvial soils of the region and cooling river influence have many likening it to the Loire region of France, making it a perfect area to grow Chenin Blanc (which we also produce from this same vineyard). However, we also found many similar characteristics in the temperature and soils to the lower regions of Mendoza in Argentina, so we were stoked to pick up this vineyard and make a (rare) California 100% Malbec.

WINEMAKING
We destemmed this Malbec, 100% whole berry and fermented it in very large S-bin open-air fermenters. The native ferment immediately took off the first night and the wine was completely dry and pressed off one week from picking. The short time on the skins yielded a very aromatic and light bodied wine, which we pressed into old French Oak barrels for 7 months aging before we bottled without fining or filtration.

2021 Amador County Rosé of Grenache 2021 "Gold Dust Vineyard" El Dorado County Estate Viognier 2020 "Gold Dust Vineyard" Estate Tempranillo
"Grenache makes the best rosè" - Aaron

Our very first rosé release made from Grenache grapes! This past year, we picked up a little more fruit from our Amador County Grenache vineyard in order to make this special rosé release. This wine is busting with flavors of peach, watermelon Jolly Rancher, nectarine, and wild strawberries, wrapped in a soft, pillowy body that lulls you in before smacking you over the face with fresh acidity. This rosé takes you on fun and wild ride, making it the perfect warm weather sipper.

WINEMAKING
The Grenache was destemmed and sent directly to press where it saw less than two hours of skin contact during the press cycle. The juice was pressed off into a stainless steel tank for an 18-day fermentation with indigenous yeast, before being racked into stainless steel barrels for aging. The rosé aged for seven months in stainless steel before being bottled without fining or filtration.
Our Estate Viognier comes from high elevation in the Fair Play AVA of southern El Dorado County where the significant diurnal shift and well draining granitic soils yield a wine with both great aromatics and structure. This Viognier opens with aromas of white flowers, mango that lead into a full bodied wine laced with flavors of peach, white nectarine and honeysuckle and guava. The viscous mouthfeel takes you seamlessly into a creamy, yet structured finish.

Great to drink on its own or pair with fatty cheeses, oysters, clams, crab, roasted chicken, white fish, or tacos.

Winemaking
Our Viognier was whole cluster pressed into a stainless steel tank where it underwent a three week fermentation prior to being moved off the lees (spent yeast) into old French Oak barrels. The wine was aged for 7 months prior to being bottled without fining for filtration.

We are very excited to finally release our very first Tempranillo from our Gold Dust Estate Vineyard! This wine exhibits the beautiful, classic, and savory characteristics of the Tempranillo grape, opening up with aromas of dried fig, fresh rolling tobacco, and tomato leaf, which lead into flavors of cherries and plumb laced in just a touch of clove and vanilla before finishing with chewy tannin and bright acidity. This wine makes a great paring with BBQ dishes, smoked meats, ribs, and of course, both Spanish and Mexican foods.

WINEMAKING
Our Tempranillo was destemmed and fermented in open-air bins for three weeks using only indigenous yeast. The wine was pressed off into two old French Oak Barrels and one old American Oak barrel (a nod to classic Rioja-style Tempranillo, which often seems some American oak aging), where it aged for 18 months before being bottled without fining or filtration.
